Who we are

This marketplace is operated by Joseph Sarpong, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, at 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX. He is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. Contact: our contact page.

What personal data we collect

If you are a parent or guardian:

• Your name, email address and phone number when you send an enquiry, book a tutor, use the contact form, or talk to our voice or WhatsApp assistant.
• Your child's first name, year group and target schools where you choose to share them as part of an enquiry or booking.
• Booking and payment records. Card details are entered directly with Stripe and never touch our servers.
• Reviews you write after a completed booking.

If you are a tutor:

• Your name, email address, profile content, qualifications, offerings, localities served and pricing.
• Verification documents you submit for vetting (stored privately, never published).
• Listing subscription and payout records handled by Stripe.

If you use the voice assistant (on the site, by phone, or on WhatsApp), the conversation is processed to answer your questions and, with your agreement in the conversation, to capture your contact details so we can follow up.

Why, and our lawful basis

• Contract (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) — running enquiries, bookings, tutor listings and reviews.
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — responding to messages, preventing spam and abuse, and improving the service.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — details you volunteer to the voice assistant so we can contact you.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — tax and accounting records.

Who else processes it (sub-processors)

• Vercel — hosting and CDN.
• TiDB Cloud (PingCAP) — database, EU region.
• Resend — transactional email (enquiry confirmations, booking emails).
• Stripe — payments, booking payouts and listing subscriptions. Stripe is a separate controller for payment data under its own terms.
• ElevenLabs and Anthropic — the conversational voice assistant. Conversations are processed to generate replies; we send only what you say in the conversation.
• Cal.com — consultation scheduling where you book a call.
• Meta (WhatsApp) — messages you send our WhatsApp number are carried by WhatsApp under Meta's own terms.

We do not sell or rent your data, and this site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and captured leads are kept while we are in contact and deleted on request. Booking and payment records are kept for 7 years for tax purposes. Tutor profiles are kept while the listing is live and removed when the tutor leaves the marketplace, except the minimum needed for our accounting records.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, have errors corrected, have data erased, restrict or object to processing, receive your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. Use the contact page — we aim to respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/concerns.

We bump the version number above whenever anything material changes.
